ʻĀINA MAUNA LINE

We created the ʻĀina Mauna Line to show the importance of healthy forests and the impacts we as kanaka can make to improve on but also shed light on the threats we impose. Each piece in this line will highlight one of the many aspects of a thriving watershed and the importance of it to the overall function of these life systems.

Without wai, ʻāina will not thrive, and without ʻāina, there is no wai. It is an intricate relationship we must strive to upkeep. From the pioneer plants that are first to breakthrough barren lava fields and begin the growth of new forests, to our precious manu ʻōiwi (native birds) that symbiotically pollinate and help that forest grow-we are so humbled to have the opportunities to connect with and educate on this ʻāina we call home.
